Two pieces of memorable advice have informed this week’s column. The first is a historic piece of advice from Hayley Nahman, half-remembered from the Man Repeller days. I remember her writing about ‘unstylable’ pieces: if there’s something you just can’t style, take the nuclear option of pairing it with something else you can’t style. Two wrongs make a right sort of thing.
The second is a much fresher piece of advice, from Becky Malinsky. In a recent newsletter, she urged readers to reconsider the stripe. Consider it reconsidered after the break.
